Sting si prepara all’uscita del suo nuovo album. Il titolo sarà “If on a Winter’s night…“. Al suo interno non brani pop ma due pezzi inediti e poi diverse melodie tradizionali e augurali della Gran Bretagna e dell’Irlanda. Il cd uscirà a ottobre 2009

Si potrebbe dire che l’album è il successore di “Songs from the labyrinth” del 2006, lavoro ispirato al compositore inglese John Dowland (1563-1626) che non ebbe un successo grandioso. Rimase infatti fuori dalle Top 20 negli Stati Uniti e nel Regno Unito. Avrà sorte diversa questo nuovo lavoro? Speriamo.

Le due nuove canzoni di Sting sono “Lullaby for an anxious child” e “The hounds of Winter”. Tra le melodie tradizionali figurano invece “A soalin’” e “The snow it melts the soonest”
